About us
We are a film production company based in Quito, Ecuador. Our goal is to produce original, relevant, engaging, and artistically challenging stories for worldwide audiences.
Director and screenwriter Diego Araujo and producer Hanne-Lovise Skartveit have made their previous films together: Feriado (Holiday), a co-production between Ecuador and Argentina, which had its world premiere at the 2014 Berlinale and Agujero Negro (Black Hole), a co-production between Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, which premiered at BAFICI in 2018.
Ilaló Cine was created as a platform for creative collaboration across different film projects, as well as a shared production platform for developing our own films and supporting projects by emerging Ecuadorian filmmakers.
